If you have the opportunity to stay at a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort, there are two options that comfortably sleep four people. These are the studio and one bedroom units. When travelling with extended family or a mixed group, there are two additional options that provide guests with much more flexibility. These are the two bedroom units and the grand villa.
A two bedroom features many of the accommodations that a one bedroom has but sleeps eight or nine people comfortably. This unit has a comfortable living room that separates the master bedroom and the second bedroom. The size of the room varies on the resort. A two bedroom unit can either be designated as a two bedroom or a combination of a one bedroom and studio unit combined which offers two separate entrances. The kitchen features anything you would need to have an afternoon snack or a quiet meal in the room. There is a washer and dryer which will allow a family to run a quick load of laundry before heading to a park for the day.
Some of the best memories that I have made while at Walt Disney World have been in a Grand Villa. The Grand Villa sleeps twelve people comfortably. The unit can either be one or two floors. When you enter the unit, there is a large living room or family room and a full bath and washer and dryer off this room. One couch opens up to a queen size bed. There is a large kitchen and table which assists with a family eating breakfast in the room before heading out for the day. The master bedroom and bath offer a hideaway that might be needed when staying with up to twelve people. There are two additional bedrooms in the unit which each feature a private full bath. These two bedrooms offer the amenities that a typical hotel room on Disney property would offer.
Although I am not someone who spends long hours in the room while on vacation, the accommodations through the DVC units allows a guest to comfortably escape the heat and the chaos in the parks and feel at home. The opportunity to spend time with extended family or friends and create memories is one of the best parts of a Disney vacation to me. The chance to stay in a “room” that sleeps between eight and twelve people offers the chance to share experiences without compromising privacy.
