Liberty Square is one of 6 lands at Magic Kingdom, it is the smallest land as well. Though it may be small, there is much to do in this original land of the Magic Kingdom. There are 3 attractions, 3 restuarants, and 3 shops, not to mention various merchandise kiosks and food carts. There is also the huge Liberty Tree at the center of the land. The theming of Liberty square is of Colonial America. You can get to Liberty Square from Fantasyland, Frontierland, and the park's central hub.
The 3 attractions you can enjoy are The Haunted Mansion, The Hall of Presidents, and the Liberty Belle Riverboat. The Haunted Mansion, which is located near the entrance through Fantasyland, takes you on a ride in a Doom Buggy through a haunted house. The Hall of Presidents is an audio-animatronic show featuring every American President, it's a learning experience and a great place to rest and get out of the heat and sun of Florida. The Liberty Belle Riverboat is a steam powered paddle boat that goes around the Rivers of America.
The restaurants are Columbia Harbor House, Sleepy Hollow, and the Liberty Tree Tavern. The Columbia Harbor House is a quick service resturant which includes seafood and chicken dishes, very much New England style dishes. Sleepy Hollow is a quick service eatery where you can get funnel cakes and waffle sandwiches and soft serve ice cream as well. The Liberty Tree Tavern is a sit down casual dining experience. Modeled like an 18th century American Inn, also with a New England inspired meal including, new england clam chowder, pot roast, roast turkey, and salads and sandwiches.
The 3 shops are Heritage House, Yankee Trader Gourmet Shop, and Ye Olde Chirstmas Shoppe. They all contain your basic licensed Disney merchandise that fits the theme of the stores. Heritage House has many American History items. Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is one of just a few shops around all of Walt Disney World where you can get christmas ornaments and decorations year round.
So that is a quick look at Liberty Square, do you take the time to enjoy it, or do you just pass through to get to all the popular rides? I would recommend taking the time to "stop and smell the roses", not only is really well themed you may learn a thing or two as well.
