Who's Who Wednesday: Pocahontas

Daughter of a native American chief, Pocahontas introduced herself into the world as the protagonist of Pocahontas in 1995. Pocahontas is an independent, kind, and spiritual member of the Native American tribe. She loves to interact with nature in the forest and has many animal friends such as a raccoon named Meeko.

Pocahontas wears a blue necklace that used to belong to her deceased mother, which was given to her by her father. In the movie Pocahontas meets an European settler named John Smith who traveled with other settlers across the sea. However, the native American tribe is not so happy with the situation and so Pocahontas must do her best to save John Smith and show the rest of her family and friends that the European settlers aren’t just there to steal their land.

Pocahontas uses her knowledge of nature and seeks out Grandmother Willow, a willow tree who speaks to Pocahontas and leads her to the right decision. Pocahontas loves to have fun and is very free-spirited.

Pocahontas makes appearances at Hollywood Studios in the Animation Courtyard and at Animal Kingdom so stop by and see how her and Meeko are doing!
