If there is a thief we all love, it’s Flynn Rider…or should I say Eugene Fitzherbert? Making his debut in Disney’s Tangled (2010) Flynn was on a mission with his partners in crime (The Stabbington Brothers) to steal the jewels of the lost princess of Corona. That’s before he suddenly finds himself face to face with a lonely and adventurous girl named Rapunzel. Being conniving and clever as he is, Flynn initially thinks with the flash of his “smolder” he’ll soon put Rapunzel under his spell and make off without a trace.

He’s surprised when the independent and dream-filled Rapunzel has other plans. Throughout his journey with Rapunzel we learn many things about Flynn. He grew up in an orphanage when he was a child, constantly reading stories of “Flynnigan Rider” the rich and daring hero; This is where he got his name. Flynn eventually tells Rapunzel that he took the name after the character and his real name is Eugene. Yearning for the same recognition and riches as Flynnigan, Eugene becomes one of the most wanted thieves, but it turns him into a wanted man rather than leaving him with peace and all the money he could enjoy. Flynn is now constantly on the run until he meets Rapunzel.

He realizes that it’s not just his dreams that matter, but as he falls in love with Rapunzel, that she is his dream and he learns to care for other people in the process. Unfortunately, Flynn no longer does meet and greets with Rapunzel at Walt Disney World. He may make some random appearances during special events and parades. Somebody must stay home and feed Maximus his apples!
