When thinking about options for accommodations while at Walt Disney World, a person could become completely overwhelmed. There are options that are both on and off property. If you decide to stay on property, there are options at different price ranges which feature different themes and amenities.
One opportunity that I have had many times is to stay with members of the Disney Vacation Club. It is magical for a cast member to say “Welcome Home” upon checking in to your room. The Disney Vacation Club (DVC) has been around for just over twenty years. The original property was Old Key West and since that time there have been a number of different properties added or renovations made to existing Disney properties. There are now DVC resorts in South Carolina, Florida, California and Hawaii.
There are four different room styles at a DVC resort. This includes a studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, and a grand villa. The studio is similar to a traditional hotel room sleeping four with some convenience features like a small toaster and coffeemaker. There is a pull out couch and a queen size bed. The bath and toilet are separate from the sink area in this unit.
A different style, but a definite upgrade is a one bedroom unit which features a pull out couch and a separate master bedroom area with a whirlpool tub and shower. There is only one bathroom for the unit which sleeps four people as well as a kitchen area and a table for eating. One of the best features is a washer and dryer for all units that have at least one bedroom. This can come in handy since one luxury of being “home” is that housekeeping only comes in once during a full week stay to change out the towels and empty the trash. If you like a fresh towel this it is simple to throw some towels in before heading out for the day and putting them in the dryer before taking a quick nap or heading to bed.
Both the studio and the one bedroom are fantastic options for a group of four people. There are features that definitely make you feel more at home than a traditional hotel room and can be worth checking them out.
