Foodie Friday: Goofy Food

Who knew that Goofy was a chef? I had heard of and even been to Chef Mickey's at Walt Disney World Resort, but didn't know that there was a Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland, CA. It is located at the Disneyland Hotel and is a character buffet meal. Goofy and other characters are available for meet and greet. Goofy even does a little skit and show with the kids! This place sounds super fun. They Serve breakfast and dinner. Some menu items during breakfast include PB&J Pizza, made to order omelets and Mickey waffles. Dinner serves up everything from salad to steaks.Fix yourself up some soft serve frozen yogurt for dessert There are also options for vegan and gluten free dieters. ADRs are available for this establishment. One of my favorite places to visit when I am at Walt Disney World is Goofy's Candy Company in Downtown Disney Marketplace. There are candies and treats beyond the imagination, including the chocolate caramel apples. You can buy candies like Lego shaped sweet tarts, jelly beans and chocolates by the pound. There are also prepared novelty candies available. Visitors can use snack credits for many of these items. One unique thing you can do here is create your own special treat, like a chocolate caramel apple. First, you choose your base from items like an apple, a Rice Krispie Treat or pretzel rods. Next you choose what you want to dip it in like caramel or chocolate. Then you have the many toppings, everything from sprinkles, M&Ms, nuts, trail mix or coconut. Lastly, if you wish, you can drizzle chocolate over the top of your apple...I mean treat. Prices vary with the snacks depending on base and number of toppings. I HIGHLY recommend the chocolate caramel apple.

Pre-made items and chocolates are also available for purchase. There is also a small selection of diabetic or sugar free items, but sadly, no chocolate caramel apples. Next to Goofy's Candy Company, in the same building, is Goofy Glaciers. Here, guests can quench their thirst with a yummy flavored slushie. Goofy's Candy Co. also has a private room for birthday parties. Guests can choose from a princess or pirate theme. The 1.5 hour party includes treats for up to 15 guests, balloons, invitations and thank-you notes. There is also a special gift for the birthday boy/girl. Guests get to make their own treat as described earlier, which can include a chocolate caramel apple.
